Angl-Edge Can Opener

Made with the idea of aging in place, this can opener was explicitly designed to reduce the fine motor skills required to use a can opener.

Design Details

The can opener features an elegant flowing shape that intertwines each half, forming the novel mechanism that converts a horizontal twisting motion to vertical. The forced grip relieves the need for the use of pinch grips and wrist pronation.

The end result is a can opener that uses gross motor skills, requiring less effort to operate with larger points of interaction than typical can openers.
