Kohler Solar Concept
This faucet system was designed as a concept on the abstraction of the theme of "Light". Here, I opted to design the faucet system with the simple idea of the clarifying moment in the warm sun after an early morning. With the metaphor of the sun, this idea guided the design.
Anticipation
With every Solar system, users receive a light key. This disc is unique to you and is a reminder of what awaits. Throughout the day, it collects environmental information such as temperature, noise levels, and movement to formulate a custom bath routine for later use. It can be used as an extension of your personal devices, but by default, will glow in moments where it detects high stress activities, to remind you of what awaits
Activation
To prep the bath, place the key into the Solar system. When placed into its spot, the key automatically syncs its custom routine to the main system. With a light push, it prepares a custom bath with intelligently set temperature and lighting based off current time and day conditions combined with the stored data about the day.
Choreography
During your soak, the faucet and key slowly rotate in its fixture, emitting light against the surfaces of the room and replenishing water to maintain proper temperature as needed. At its end, the system gently raises the lights in the room to gently bring end the period of relaxation
